A  Board Certified Life Coach,  I am here to support you as you bridge the gap between where you are today and where you dream of being tomorrow.

Whether you are an individual, a couple or a team, together we can assess "the Wheel of Life" or a specific aspect of your life. I work with clients who are committed to building stronger relationships, better skills in communicating,  more successful businesses, more fulfilling careers, healthier lifestyles, deeper spirituality, and more creative retirements.

Life Coaching is not therapy. It is not about "fixing" individuals or institutions; rather, it is about encouraging clients to make powerful choices which will benefit themselves, their colleagues, their loved ones, and, ultimately, the world. Life Coaching is not about what has happened in the past, but about the future you dream of creating.

My Spiritual Direction practice includes traditional one-on-one work both with Christians and with people from all faith traditions. As an active listener, I can guide  you in listening to your own deepest self; my role is to serve as companion by offering encouragement, understanding and challenge, when necessary. I will never impose my agenda upon you or push you into decisions which you yourself have not made. I am ready to pray with you, if that is what you want, or simply to observe a few moments of silence. Typically, I meet with clients once a month for an hour. For those unable to meet with me in person, I also offer Spiritual Direction by telephone. This is useful for people with tight schedules or for those who live out of state or even out of the country. Please contact me to explore whether I am the right companion for your spiritual journey at this time in your life!

Image Guidance is a coaching technique I developed which uses imagery to integrate the self through spiritual, emotional and physical healing; it is a powerful tool which helps clients access their own inner wisdom through their own unique images.  I have used this process to help clients in the following ways: to understand the causes of illnesses, negative attitudes, addictions, and problematic behavior patterns; to prepare for difficult or unpleasant medical procedures, personal confrontations or challenging situations; to discern what is most life giving when several choices present themselves; to live in harmony with situations which cannot be changed such as terminal illness, permanent disability, or irreversible loss; to understand and deepen relationships with God, self and others.

My Experience With Image Guidance

I have published two books of case studies with Paulist Press: Image Guidance: a Tool for Spiritual Direction (1992) and Image Guidance and Healing (1994). In addition to working extensively with private clients, I have presented my research in numerous settings across the country, providing training to the following organizations: The Illinois Nurses Association; National Association of Catholic Therapists; The Office of Ministry Formation, Archdiocese of Chicago; The Wellness Center, Arlington Heights; Spiritual Directors International (SDI);  Resurrection Hospital (chaplains); American Association for the Study of Mental Imagery; Catholic Theological Union (CTU);  Queens Retreat House, Saskatoon; Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago (LSTC); the Lesbian Cancer Project, Chicago; St. Scholastica Priory, Duluth; St. Xavier University, DePaul University, Columbia College etc.

I have adapted my work with imagery for use in Life Coaching contexts and teach a course for ILCT  (The Institute for Life Coach Training) on the topic. My new book, Mind-Shifting Imagery: Image Guidance for Life Coaches,  provides safe, brief and effective guidelines for using imagery in coaching, spiritual direction, pastoral counseling and other forms of spiritual guidance.
